Zagreb Tourfilm Festival – International Festival of Tourism Film
From 13 to 15 September 2017 in the Kaptol Boutique Cinema & Bar, the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival will be held.
Organised by the Zagreb Tourist Board and Balduči Film in the Kaptol Boutique Cinema & Bar, sponsored by the President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian Tourist Board, from 13 to 15 September 2017 the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival will be held, an international festival of tourism film.
Zagreb Tourfilm Festival is a member of CIFFT – the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals. Other tourism film festival cities include Baku, Warsaw, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Karlovy Vary, Porto, Cannes, Deauville and Istanbul.
CIFFT is an international association of film festivals based in Vienna. Every Festival has its own international jury and awards which are presented to shortlisted films. Throughout the year, a record is kept on the number of points awarded to the films and at the end of the year the overall winner is announced. At the “Festival of Festivals” held in Vienna the winner is awarded the CIFFT Grand Prix for the best tourism film in the world.
The aim of the Festival is to award films and audio-visual productions which promote the following aspects of tourism: tourist destinations, adventure tourism, extreme sports, sports tourism, nautical tourism, hotels and resorts, people, culture and traditions, religious tourism, rural tourism and conference tourism. The aim is, say the organisers, to especially award films which promote Croatia as a tourist destination. They wish to educate and motivate people who work in the tourist industry to promote their destinations in the best way possible, addressing a targeted audience and enabling anyone who is interested to follow the latest trends, as well as to inspire young people to enter the world of tourism by promoting it or simply by working in the industry.
The fact that 170 films in five categories will be screened and compete best speaks of the size of the festival.
Free projections for the public on September 14th at Kaptol Boutique Cinema from 2pm till 9pm.
