Zagreb’s Zoological Garden ensured that holiday period is a joyous time worth remembering for children as well as others. A beautiful Advent story and many interesting activities await them in the ZOO.

Zagreb’s Maksimir Park and the Zoological Garden, which takes up a section of the Park, have prepared a children’s tour entitled the Polar Advent in the Wild Heart of the City. Visitors will have a chance to visit a garden with Christmas lighting and decorations throughout the week and enjoy a forever interesting animal world until 6 January. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the top of every hour between 11 AM and 4 PM, educators dressed as elves will guide tours in this world. A lot can also be learned about the secrets of animal world at the Education centre on weekends between 4 PM and 8 PM.

If you would like to see the ZOO in the dark, the Darkness and the Elf tour is just for you. The atmosphere is marked by sounds, smells and footprints, the programme starts at the top of each hour between 4 PM and 7 PM and lasts 45 minutes. All true animal lovers should know that all the mentioned activities and the very decoration of the ZOO area do not harm the residents and do not disrupt their usual lifestyle.

The ZOO staff also made sure there are special photo corners and entertaining features some of which are romantic violine music and open -air magic tricks. The restaurant the Sea Lion’s provides take-away meals allowing for an excellent outdoor refreshment.

It is important to say that all activities are in line with the new measures and epidemiological recommendations. The entrance is free of charge for persons under the age of 18 as well as health care professionals.

We recommend those who are not planning to visit Zagreb’s ZOO during holidays this year to follow its Facebook profile for suitable content and find out about the truly interesting animal world virtually until their next visit in person occurs.
