April 2008

Dear Friends and Business Partners!
With the arrival of spring, numerous happenings are emerging from behind closed doors onto the streets of Zagreb. There are many things worth seeing, and they most certainly will make Zagreb even more beautiful and interesting to tourists.

The Museum of Arts and Crafts
The Second Season of the Aulos Concert Cycle
Throughout the entire year, an octet of wind instruments and the XL tuba quartet of the Zagreb Philharmonic will hold concerts at the Museum of Arts and Crafts. The proceeds from ticket sales will be used toward the restoration of old instruments from the museum’s collection.

The Zagreb Time Machine
Return to the Romantic Past
In mid April, a traditional manifestation called The Zagreb Time Machine will commence, taking place every weekend from April 19th until September 27th, invigorating Zrinjevac Park, the main square, Ban Josip Jelačić, and the Upper Town with old-fashioned sounds, customs and, of course, flavors.

The Street Kings
From Street Entertainers to Eurosong Performers
With a repertoire of old city songs and schlager songs, the Street Kings have built an image as serious street musicians who have been performing on the streets of Zagreb for over twenty years now. They will take a part of those melodies, with their song Romance, to this year’s Eurosong contest.
The Zagreb Youth Theater
Plays for Foreigners
The Zagreb Youth Theater has made it possible for those who do not understand the Croatian language to also be a part of Zagreb’s cultural life by including a cycle of plays performed for foreigners to their regular program.
