August 2011

Dear citizens and guests of Zagreb!
This August, Zagreb will once again become a large summer stage. I wish a warm welcome to all who are passing through, or those of you who have decided to spend your holidays in the Croatian capital, trusting you will find enough relaxing and entertaining features. Zagreb is an interesting and attractive city, built for the pleasant cohabitation of its citizens; a city of culture and sport, in which everyone can find something to suit their interests and new experiences to enjoy.

Dear friends and business partners!
Whether you are just passing through on your way to (or from) the coast, whether you are on an excursion, or whether you simply wish to get to know the Croatian capital, Zagreb will always welcome you with numerous surprises and a diverse programme of events, in which everyone can find something to suit their interests.

Tourist Informers
Roaming the city streets in new attire
The Zagreb Tourist Board has donned its Tourist Informers in new uniforms, which feature plans of the city, in order to help tourists find their way as quickly and easily as possible. The Tourist Informers will be roaming the streets of Zagreb until the end of October.

Zagreb Arena

After an excellent concert in Zadar in 2008, Lenny Kravitz is once again coming to Croatia. This time he will perform at the Zagreb Arena, on November 17th, when he will be promoting his latest studio album as part of his European tour “Black and White Europe”. Tkalčijana
A new entertainment programme in Tkalčićeva Street
In early July, the Zagreb Tourist Board launched a new entertainment and music programme called “Tkalčijana”, which will be taking place until the end of September in Tkalčićeva, one of Zagreb’s liveliest streets.
Reminder
Summer at Stross
Until September 4th, the popular Strossmayer promenade in the Upper Town will feature free daily performances by various bands as part of the “Summer at Stross” – the longest standing cultural and tourist event in Zagreb.

Zagreb City Museum
Memories of 19th century Zagreb
If you are not among those who will explore Zagreb map-in-hand or as part of a guided tour, we suggest a visit to the Zagreb City Museum. There, you can explore the city through a prism of its onetime vistas captured in a series of photographs displayed in an exhibition entitled “Memories of Zagreb – photographs from the 19th century album”.
