Since the day he died on June 7, 1993, Drazen’s legacy has lived on in the memory of millions of basketball fans across the globe. Croatia, the homeland that he was so proud of has honored their native son in the form of this institution.
The Drazen Petrovic Memorial Center offers a place to experience his life and accomplishments as a man and an athlete of exceptional perserverance. The memorial center has been a collaborative effort lead by the Drazen Petrovic Foundation in cooperation with the Government of Croatia, the City of Zagreb and Croatian Sports Museum.
The museum was a vision of Biserka and Jole Petrovic, Drazen's parents and manifested through the plans of noted architects, Andrija Rusan and Niksa Bilic. All items were collected and cataloged by the Croatian Sports Museum.
The memorial center is currently being operated under the Drazen Petrovic Foundation led by his family. Generous donations and support have come from representatives of the Croatian Government, the City of Zagreb and numerous corporate and private sponsors.3
