Unknown Heroines

The history of the city through the experiences of women from different historical periods and different social backgrounds

Unknown Heroines of Zagreb are coming into the spotlight once again to tell you the tales of times long passed. Here you will learn what it meant to be the maid on someone’s court, what was the life of teachers like, and which nuns came from the powerful Zrinski family. What sort of parties were thrown by Anka Gvozdanić, what were the ones that followed Suzana Drašković from Varaždin and who had received a criticism from Adam Baltazar Krčelić because of her luscious parties? This tour will even reveal what was once deemed good behaviour and what it meant to be bound by a corset. Take a look into the women’s history of Zagreb!

I like Lisinski very much. It was very intense to perform there, because people came, listened carefully and felt the music in their hearts. Lisinski is a beautiful concert hall, and I am very honored to be performing there. I have wonderful memories of my first performance in Lisinski.

I am looking forward to Zagreb as a destination where I always feel good. It seems it has been too long since the last time I was here, although it was just a year or so.

Jesse Eisenberg (actor) spent the autumn in Zagreb in 2007: Zagreb is an incredible town. I enjoyed sightseeing the old parts of the town, and at night I went to clubs. I was thrilled that it was near Austria and Italy, so I visited Venice, Milan, Ljubljana, Graz, Split... over the weekends.
