Dear friends and business partners!

The start of this year is different than usual for Croatian citizens because Croatia has become a member of the unique Schengen area as well as of the eurozone. There is no doubt this will make visiting easier since tourists travelling by road do not have to go through formalities of crossing country borders while those travelling by plane will be free from them as of 26 March, right at the start of summer flights.

The positive impact on the arrival of tourists to Zagreb has been confirmed in January when the numbers broke records in comparison to the same month in previous years.

Zagreb will host many interesting events to welcome spring, the first of which to be mentioned is the Festival of Lights. This year once again the magic of light and of the art it creates will colour streets and squares, fronts of famous buildings and other areas in Zagreb. Again, there will be powerful messages about nature, life and our reality, which has never been so dynamic, even dramatic. This is an invitation to visit Zagreb and enjoy the time in which the city gains new colours and energy and the magic of light conquers it. With the help of technology, it pushes boundaries.

All of this is a celebration of light, farewell to winter and an announcement of numerous attractive events, for instance WRC Croatia Rally - the fourth race of the World Rally Championship whose start and finish line will be located in Zagreb this April.

There are also appealing festivals, concerts, visits of artists who made Zagreb part of their world tours and exhibitions. Wonderful atmosphere should be added to the eventful calendar, also recreation possibilities, rich gastro and commercial offer, as well as increasingly innovative souvenirs.
