13th Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival: The Best of Science Fiction
In late June Zagreb becomes a desirable destination for fans of science fiction offering screenings of the best achievements of world production as well as genre classics.
The 13th edition of the Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival, which is the only such festival in Zagreb, will take place in the period from 29 June to 9 July. The most attractive titles of the most recent production in genres such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, thriller, adventure, black comedy, action and animation will be screened at the Tuškanac Summer Stage and the Tuškanac Cinema. Spectators will also have a chance to see genre classics with cult status which mark anniversaries, short genre films as well as virtual reality (VR) films. Due to such a wide range and current achievements, the festival is attended by wider audience interested in quality and premier film content, in addition to fans of genre film. The fact that screenings take place at open-air Tuškanac Summer Stage also contributes to the interest and ambience.
The organisers underline some titles in the long list of films coming from around the world, such as horror thriller Pearl, Korean action thriller Project Wolf Hunting, Finnish thriller horror The Knocking, Swedish SF adventure UFO Sweden, American documentary about the famous William Shatner who rose to fame as captain Kirk in Star Trek entitled You Can Call Me Bill and a spectacular SF omnibus film made by seven producers The Last Boy on Earth.
