On March 16th, the globally renowned artist and top sevdalinka singer, Amira Medunjanin, will have her first solo concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, where she will promote her latest album, “Silk & Stone”, recorded in the concert hall itself.

On March 16th, the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall will be the venue for the first solo concert by the globally renowned artist and top sevdalinka singer Amira Medunjanin. The concert will promote her latest, fifth studio album, “Silk & Stone”, recorded at the Lisinski concert hall itself.

Singer Amira Medunjanin, dubbed the Bosnian Billie Holliday, is a versatile artist who has successfully modernized and personalized music that is hundreds of years old. Throughout her music career, she has collaborated with many renowned musicians, including the famous Mostar Sevdah Reunion band, while she released her debut album, “Rosa”, in 2005. The album received great critical acclaim across Europe, especially in Great Britain, where it was nominated album of the year in several categories. Her other albums have also become great successes.

Although her latest album, “Silk & Stone”, a follow-up to her acclaimed album “Amulette” from 2011, was released late last year, it has already been widely praised by fans and critics alike. The album consists of ten tracks, exquisite interpretations of some of the most beautiful traditional songs from the region, such as “Eleno kerko”, “Kradem ti se u večeri”, “Ima dana”, etc. The album was produced and arranged by the renowned jazz pianist, Bojan Zulfikarpašić.
