An adrenaline packed view of the city – from a bungee jumping platform
Since July, another attractive option has been added to the ways in which to see Zagreb from the air; the first bungee jumping facility in the continental part of Croatia – located near the Arena Centre. The enjoyment one feels during the adrenaline packed jump is enhanced by a bird’s-eye view of the city.
If you want to experience a bird’s-eye view of Zagreb and are not afraid to plunge down from a considerable height, head for the Arena Centre (in the south-west part of Zagreb) and embark on a bungee jumping adventure. A platform for this adrenaline rush was mounted in Zagreb at the beginning of July, making this the only continental Croatian city (the other four are on the littoral) where daredevils can partake in this popular challenge.
The bungee jumping platform is mounted at 47 metres above the ground, the height of a 13-storey skyscraper, and is truly a challenge for all those who are not afraid of heights. There seems to be no shortage of takers judging by the queues that formed during the first days of its operation. Among the brave adventurers were also tourists who wanted to have another memorable experience while staying in Zagreb.
The organizers offer a special experience even for those whose heart sinks at the very thought of jumping from this height – they can climb onto the jumping platform and instead of plunging down from it they can simply enjoy the breathtaking view of the city.
The bungee jumping platform will stay mounted near the Arena Centre until 1 November and it will be accessible daily. Safe jumping demonstrations are organized for those who are intrigued by the challenge but have still not overcome their fear of jumping. There is a consolation prize for those who are not persuaded to jump even after the demonstration – a visit to the Arena Centre, where they can enjoy the shopping and entertainment opportunities it offers. This is not only one of the biggest shopping centres in Zagreb but also a place where various events, including concerts and summer camps for children and adolescents, are organized throughout the summer.
