An exhibition “From Statue to Confession”

Until November 30th, the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery will feature an exhibition “From Statue to Confession, self-portrait – autobiography”, which consists of over a hundred works by traditional, as well as contemporary, Croatian artists.

Until November 30th, the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery will feature an exhibition “From Statue to Confession, self-portrait – autobiography”. Its theme is self-portrait as a form of autobiographical confession and, aside from works by traditional Croatian artists, it will also feature works by contemporary artists. These works have either never yet been seen before, or they were created specifically for this exhibition; this is the first time they can all be viewed in one location.

Among the self-portraits by great Croatian sculptors – such as Ivan Meštrović, Vanja Radauš and Valerije Michieli – visitors will also have an opportunity to see lesser-known works by Kosta Angeli Radovani, Dušan Ðamonja, Ivo Frišćić and Ljubo Ivančić.

Apart from traditional sculptures, the exhibition also features various multimedia works by contemporary artists, such as: Ksenija Turčić, Mejra Mujičić, Sonja Vuk, Sandra Sterle, Alemka Ðivoje, and Ivana Resić Šore, as well as other contemporary sculptors. One of them, an artist from Sisak, Marijan Crtalić, prepared a performance “Possibility of Resistance” specifically for this exhibition, whilst Vlasta Žanić, an artist from Zagreb, prepared a performance “Metamorphosis”, which also marked the opening of the exhibition to the general public.

The exhibition “From Statue to Confession, self-portrait – autobiography” features more than a hundred works by 34 Croatian artists who revealed their intimacy through various artistic forms.
