An opera diva - Mezzo-soprano Elina Garanča at Lisinski
On February 8th, the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall will be the venue for a concert by Latvian mezzo-soprano Elina Garanča, one of the greatest opera singers in the world.
After a stellar performance which won her a standing ovation from the audience three years ago, Latvian mezzo-soprano Elina Garanča will hold another concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall on February 8th. This time around, the opera diva of a younger generation will perform a repertoire of works by Robert Schumann, Alban Berg, Richard Strauss, Henri Duparc and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Elina Garanča is one of the greatest contemporary opera singers in the world. She attracted attention during the second year of her training, when it took her only about ten days to prepare for the role of Giovanna Seymour in the opera Anna Bolena by Gaetano Donizetti. After winning the Mirjam Helin international singing contest in Finland in 1999, some of the most prestigious opera houses in the world opened their doors to her, giving her the opportunity to work with the best opera singers and famous conductors. The magnificent artist has thus far performed numerous roles on the world’s greatest stages, while her interpretations of Mozart’s heroines, the bel canto opera repertoire and sacral pieces are equally as successful. Elina Garanča is also the winner of numerous international awards, and during her music career she has released ten CDs and DVDs in cooperation with the biggest music labels.
Tickets for the concert by this opera singer can be purchased at the box office of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall or online at www.ulaznice.hr, while prices per ticket range between 260 and 320 kuna.
