Come One and All to Ribnjak this Summer!
The beginning of summer in Zagreb has been truly special since Park-in-Zagreb was first launched. This year again, from 26 th June to 7th July, a festival of entertainment and culture will be held outdoors, under the leafy treetops in Ribnjak Park, just a stone's throw away from the main city square.
For the seventh year in a row, one of the events that mark the beginning of summer will be Park-in-Zagreb, a festival of entertainment and culture. It is traditionally held outdoors in the popular Ribnjak Park, just a stone’s throw away from the main city square. The festival programmes will go on from 26th June to 7th July, from early morning until late evening. Although primarily designed for younger audiences, it has been adapted to children as well as more mature spectators. The main purpose of the festival is to offer Zagreb's citizens and tourists all day entertainment opportunities in the pleasant ambience of Ribnjak Park. As before, it will be the place to enjoy stage performances, workshops, film projections, exhibitions, concerts and a lot more. The protagonists will come from all over the country and abroad, and since quite a number of the festival’s visitors are usually foreign tourists, every year Ribnjak is transformed into a small scale globe.
The festival programmes are divided into three segments each day: the morning period is from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M., the afternoon happenings are from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M., whereas the evening programmes start at 8 P.M. Entrance is free of charge and visitors can look forward to workshops adapted to all generations and varied affinities – dance, art, music, sport, sculpture, cooking, photography and drama. There will be a number of lectures on different topics pertaining to science, art and sport. Literary works will be presented and concerts will feature different types of musical genres.
Traditionally, the festival dedicates one day to the culture and customs of one country. Spain was the country chosen last year, and this year visitors will have plenty of opportunities to learn about Egypt on that special day.
The festival lasts for 11 days and includes two weekends when regular programmes will be enhanced by some additional attractions, such as playing “Live Ludo”, dodge ball and similar interesting games and sports.
