Concerts and Theater Plays in Two Museums
The Amadeo musical and theater stage has prepared another attractive program this year, with an array of theater performances and concerts of classical, jazz, and world music, which will be taking place in two museums throughout the summer.
At the Museum of Arts and Crafts, which is located downtown, and the Croatian Nature Museum, located within the ancient walls of the Upper Town, music and theater programs organized by the Amadeo Stage will be taking place throughout the summer months. Numerous performers of classical, jazz, and world music will hold concerts, while the theater aspect of the program will include Chamber Theater and ballet shows. The ceremonial opening will take place on July 4th at the Croatian Nature Museum with a concert by great Croatian musicians Arsen, Gabi and Matija Dedić, as well as Branko Bulić – Bula.
The Amadeo Stage is marking its tenth anniversary this year. From the very beginning it has gained a reputation as an attractive cultural event which has featured renowned artists from Croatia as well as abroad. Some sixty plays and concerts have been carefully selected to offer audiences the best mix of classical music performed by talented young musicians, jazz performances by affirmed names and concerts of world and pop music. Over the last nine years, the Amadeo Stage has presented eleven theater premieres and twelve world premieres of works by Croatian musicians commissioned specifically for the event. More than a total of 350 theater plays and concerts have been performed during that period while, in 2001 and 2007, film projections from the Motovun Film Festival lineup were also organized in Zagreb as part of the Amadeo Stage program.
