The Food Culture Centre in Nazorova Street is reputed as a place which educates people about food and promotes the gastronomy culture. It employs food experts under whose guidance Croatian and foreign participants learn how to prepare traditional Croatian dishes and pastries and thus become active protagonists of Croatia's gastronomic story which evolves in the heart of Zagreb. The story starts at Dolac market where participants are taken to meet the people who work at the stands selling fresh home grown ingredients; it continues at the centre where all the participants take part first in cooking and then in eating together. The centre also offers tastings of authentic produce and wines, with explanations provided on their origin, region, geographic, historical, and cultural and other characteristics.
