Along with the main highlights, Animafest organizers are planning a diverse concurrent program. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards will be handed to renowned Canadian animator, Frédéric Back, as well as Georges Schwizgebel, a multiply-awarded director of many animated films and one of the most prominent Swiss artists in general.
The concurrent program will present the interesting history of Croatian animated film, featuring films made in the early 1960’s, as well as contemporary works by the biggest animation studios in the world, such as British Aardman, French Folimage, and American ACME Filmworks. The history of the studios will also be complemented by presentations of their best works so that audiences will also have an opportunity to see some Oscar-winning films, as well as the best commercial spots of independent American filmmakers and artists.
