By organizing and hosting this important conference, Zagreb will once again prove itself as an attractive congress and tourist destination, which is gaining an increasingly significant position on the global tourism map.

According to recently published data by the International Congress and Convention Association, in terms of the number of held congresses compared to 2009, Zagreb has advanced by almost a hundred places on the list of leading global congress destinations in 2010. In other words, it has climbed up from 171st place to 79th among the competition of 309 cities worldwide. Looking just at Europe, the results are even better: Zagreb ranks 42nd in a competition of 159 cities. In terms of the number of international conferences held in Croatia, for which the country scores 40th place, Zagreb is unmistakably the national leader, with more than 50 percent of international congresses taking place here.
