The best of global film production will be available to film lovers during this year’s edition of the International Experimental Film and Video Festival which will be held at the Student Center from September 22nd through September 27th.
The 25th FPS, the International Film and Video Festival, will be held from September 22nd through September 27th at the Student Center. The competition part will feature entries representing the best of current global film production. Besides the main competition segment, there will also be a program consisting of three retrospectives, the most recent Croatian production, and concert and film performances.
Film aficionados will find a rare treat in the retrospective of Dutch experimental films which have never before been shown in Croatia. A total of 19 well-known cinematic and conceptual experiments feature on the retrospective program, together with a 1928 work by one of the creators of the world documentary film, Joris Ivens. Moreover, the organizer has announced four expanded cinema performances including concerts and film events, as well as a workshop whose participants will be shown how to manually develop the classic 16-mm and Super 8-mm film in a real film laboratory. The 25th FPS festival will open with the screening of Gustav Deutsch’s “Film Ist a girl & a gun” compiled from footage collected from different world archives, a work which has been featured at the most significant world festivals.
The festival's organizer is the 25FPS Association for Audio-visual Research in Zagreb.
