The doors of the cinema in Varšavska opened on 8 April 1925 and Zagreb's oldest cinema has built and maintained the role of a legendary meeting place dedicated to filmever since. Kino Europa's birthday celebrations will be held on 7 April with a free screening of the cult Croatian movie H-8 directed by Nikola Tanhofer, with English subtitles. It would be hard to choose a better title than Tanhofer's film: this is a film which regularly appears on critics' lists of the best Croatian films of all time.
