SAll those already enamoured with travel and those who have yet to be bitten by the travel bug can find answers to all their questions about the fascinating world of travel at the 3rd International Tourism Fair Place2go which will take place between March 14th and 16th in Boćarski dom.
Over 150 exhibitors from 16 countries will meet their future clients and try to give them enough reasons why they should choose their destination for their dream holiday. Besides hearing fascinating information about various destinations, including India, Thailand, the USA, Turkey and European countries, visitors will get the specifics of various travel packages, special prices and deals offered by travel agents, airline companies, hotels, spas and others. Like the previous two years, the Place2go Passport prize draw will be organized for visitors and will bring the luckiest ones some valuable prizes. But before they can take part in the prize draw, visitors will first have to “travel” through the fair and collect stamps in their passports, which is also the catalogue of the fair. Some of the prizes are trips to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Tunis, the Netherlands and Hungary, air travel tickets to some European destinations and many others.
This year’s edition of the fair takes place in two exhibition halls offering the visual experience of various destinations in one of them and the flavours and scents of specialties from the local cuisine and the cuisines of the world in the Gastro Street. Visitors will also be able to purchase original products from Croatia and various exotic destinations at the Place2go market. Experienced world travellers will give lectures and presentations on their travel experiences, while Place2go television, a novelty at the fair, will cover all the fair events. Those following the Place2go television broadcast on YouTube or the www.place2go.hr web pages will have access to a lot of other interesting information, for example, what the current time in Thailand is, what the weather is like in Zambia, or the latest update on the football world championship in Brazil…
The fair takes place under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and with the support of the Croatian Tourism Association, the Committee on Tourism of the Croatian Parliament, the Zagreb Tourist Board and the Zagreb Markets.
At the initiative of “Zagreb for me”, an association of students of the schools of economics and tourism of the University of Zagreb, the Place2go Fair will also feature a fair of seasonal jobs “Cro Summer Job 2014”, intended for students and all those who are looking for or are offering seasonal, part-time or full-time job opportunities. The goal of the project is to inform young people of opportunities on the job market, put them in touch with employers and help them gain work experience. Those interested in finding a job will be able to leave their CVs with prospective employers, have job interviews and learn about the conditions of employment, while job seekers will get information about retraining and specialisation programmes and learn about the offer of seasonal jobs abroad. The programme, backed by the City of Zagreb, Place2go, CCUSA and OTP Bank, will include lectures and workshops by employment and self-employed professionals.
