Positive Trends Continue
Zagreb will end yet another year with record tourist turnover results. During the first ten months of this year, steep growth rates were recorded in tourist arrivals from all emitting markets and overseas countries.
During the first ten months of the current year, Zagreb recorded an impressive figure of 522,300 tourists, 14 per cent more than in the same period last year. The 947,600 overnights recorded during the same 10-month period accounted for an 11 per cent increase on the first ten months of last year. This year is expected to end in record results as the upward trend in tourist turnover continues. The Germans still lead in terms of the number of arrivals, whereas guests from the United States of America have now taken second place. The Italians are in third place on that list, followed by guests from France, Austria, Spain and Great Britain. Interestingly enough, guests from the neighboring countries, more specifically Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, hold very high places on the list.
The overseas markets showed similarly high growth rates in arrival numbers. The interest from the Japanese market is rising which is reflected by the number of Japanese visitors to Croatia. Judging by the bookings for December, the number of Japanese tourists will continue to grow quite significantly, as will the arrival of guests from Canada and Australia.
