Sting arrives with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Just three days after the Lady Gaga concert on November 5th, the Arena will be the venue for a concert by the charismatic musician Sting. His third performance in Zagreb will feature backing by the renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London.

Despite the excitement of summer days, many people in Zagreb are already eagerly awaiting winter. The main reason for this is the upcoming concert season which, apart from the already confirmed performance by Lady Gaga on November 5th, includes a concert by Sting and the famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London.

The concert will be held on November 8th at the Zagreb Arena, just three days after the spectacle by the controversial Lady Gaga, so citizens of Zagreb and their guests are in for an exciting long weekend of music.

The concert by Sting and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London will be held as part of his large tour “Symphonicity”, which began in Vancouver in early June. The concept of this tour was inspired by the legendary last studio album of the same name, released in 1983, by “The Police”.

However, despite the tested formula of his former band, the aforementioned concert, conducted by the “royal” maestro Steven Mercurio, will be marked by classical accompaniment. Thus, Sting’s best known hits, performed by some 45 musicians of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will certainly sound different, which surprised Sting himself in the early concerts.

Whilst remembering the moments of creating some of his hits, such as “Roxanne”, which has negative connotations as it deals with jealousy, Sting recently stated that the song actually sounds romantic when performed by a philharmonic orchestra.
This will be Sting’s third performance in Zagreb. He held his previous concert last year at the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall, when he performed alongside Edin Karamazov.

Prices for this unique music spectacle range from 350 to 800 kuna, and they can be purchased at all Eventim stores. All tickets are for seated positions.
