The 31st Evenings in Grič
Between 29th June and 2nd August, concerts of classical, jazz and other types of music will be performed daily by acclaimed Croatian and foreign artists in the atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery and in the Church of St. Catherine during the 31st Evenings in Grič Festival.
The atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery and the Church of St. Catherine will again serve as venues for the 31st Evenings in Grič, a traditional event formerly known as the Zagreb Summer Evenings which has been held since 1982.
From 29th June to 2nd August, audiences can look forward to daily musical performances by acclaimed artists from Croatia and many other countries. There will be concerts of classical and jazz music; ensembles, symphony orchestras and tamburitza bands will perform various tunes. As always, the event will provide an opportunity for young talent to perform in front of an appreciative audience.
Among the many Croatian artists, this year's Evenings in Grič will feature concerts by the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble and the first opera theatre, Opera b.b., which was established in 2006 with the objective to promote the art of opera in Croatia. Three Croatian pop-music divas; Gabi Novak, Radojka Šverko and Tereza Kesovija will perform together. Among the guests from abroad, we would like to highlight performances by the Yumma Ensemble, which draws its roots from the earliest traditional music of Israel; and the Russian vocal ensemble Svetilen will present a repertoire of folk and religious music. The other two foreign groups who will join the impressive line-up are the Italian Luca Ciarla Quartet and the Ensemble Cappela Istropolitana from Slovakia.
The concerts start at 9 P.M. and tickets can be purchased at the Tourist Information Centre in Trg Ban Josip Jelačić Square or at the concert venue an hour before the beginning of the concert.
