Between the 11th and the 13th of November, the Trešnjevka Culture Centre will be the venue for PSSST, the 5th Festival of Silent Film. This festival, which is unique not only in Croatia but also throughout the rest of the world, presents silent films in an interesting way. As the festival offers filmmakers an opportunity to express themselves through this specific method of storytelling, the audience also has a special opportunity to become more familiar with the medium of silent film. This means that everyone who has the necessary equipment to make a silent film is invited to participate and present their creation.
The festival has a competitive character and, along with musical backing, it will feature Croatian and international silent films of all genres. This festival, which has been attracting numerous film buffs since its very first edition, will offer audiences an opportunity to enjoy screenings of silent film masterpieces from their golden age, as well as contemporary films.
Therefore, organizers are inviting all filmmakers, professional or amateur enthusiasts, to submit their work and thereby contribute to this event with their artistic talent. The deadline for submitting films for the competitive programme is October 15th, 2011. The festival regulations, application forms and all other relevant information can be found online at www.festivalnijemogfilma.com
