The best luxury city hotel in the world

The Regent Esplanade Zagreb has been proclaimed best luxury city hotel in the world, and it won the World Luxury Hotel Award 2011. The award was presented to hotel representatives in its Emerald Hall, where the prestigious award ceremony was held in mid- September.

Zagreb’s Regent Esplanade Hotel has been proclaimed best luxury city hotel in the world, and it was awarded the World Luxury Hotel Award 2011: considered to be the pinnacle of business achievement in the hotel industry. The award ceremony, which took place in mid-September and was held in the Emerald Hall of The Regent Esplanade Hotel itself, was attended by representatives of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Awards were presented in 30 different categories, and more than a thousand hotels were nominated.

The Regent Esplanade Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Zagreb. It opened in 1925 to provide luxury accommodation to the passengers of the renowned Orient Express. Since the very beginning, the hotel has offered high standards and the list of noteworthy guests who have stayed there includes numerous royals, politicians, renowned artists, actors, etc. 

The hotel was most recently renovated in 2004, when it was given a new luxury makeover as well as a new name: The Regent Esplanade Zagreb. That same year it became part of The Regent International Group and it was also the first Regent Hotel in Europe.
