The best skiers once again on Sljeme

With the beginning of each year Sljeme lives and breathes skiing. This winter, slalom races of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Vip Snow Queen Trophy will take place between January 4th and 6th 2014 for the 10th consecutive time.

Although the Sljeme slalom races have only been taking place for nine years, thanks to their excellent organization, Zagreb has become the youngest member of “Club 5” this year. It has thus joined the traditional association of world ski cup organizers, founded in 1968, which includes the likes of Kitzbuhel, Wengen, Schladming, Val Garden and Val d’Isere as its members. The upcoming Audi FIS Ski World Cup Vip Snow Queen Trophy 2014 will be the 10th annual race for male and female slalom skiers in Zagreb.

Traditionally, female skiers will race first, competing for the Snow Queen trophy on January 4th, while an always entertaining, humanitarian Legends’ race will take place in the afternoon hours. Male skiers will compete in a night slalom race on January 6th.

The first female slalom race for the Vip Snow Queen Trophy was organized in 2005, while the men’s races were first launched in 2008. Apart from excellent organization, from day one the races have been attracting the attention of global TV networks as well as numerous fans, who do not refrain from showing their unbridled support for the skiers and who always gladly return to Zagreb to savour its fantastic atmosphere. Concurrent entertainment events will also be abundant during this year’s, jubilee world cup race, so once again, early next year, Sljeme will live for this huge sporting event.
