The congress offer - Zagreb’s ranking on the ICCA list continues to grow!
In 2014, Zagreb ascended seven places on the list of congress cities. In just several years it has jumped more than a hundred places.
The latest statistics by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), published in mid-May, show that in terms of the number of organized international gatherings Zagreb has ascended seven places, thus being ranked 72nd of the total of 354 cities world-wide. In the competition of 183 European cities included in the statistics, the Croatian capital takes 37th place. Since the beginning of the decade, Zagreb has jumped more than a hundred places on the aforementioned list, and it has become a stable and increasingly popular congress destination, while its existing selling points continue to be enhanced by new additions.
Apart from top-quality conference facilities in hotels, independent meeting halls and cultural institutions, Zagreb also has a specific offer of attractive facilities for special events; historic venues, theatres, museums, galleries, libraries, the archive building… Rather than being standard congress venues these places boast tradition, history and a special atmosphere. According to the Convention Bureau of the Zagreb Tourist Board, various associations and other congress organizers are showing an increased interest in booking these venues for their special events. The advantage of Zagreb’s congress offer lies in the fact that a great number of congress hotels are located in the city centre and are all easily accessible on foot.
