The first open air festival of orchestras - The Zagreb Classic at Tomislavac
Take a stroll to the Square of King Tomislav, stop in front of the Art Pavilion, and partake in the first open air festival of orchestras – Zagreb Classic. Along with other renowned musicians, the festival will feature a performance by the planetary popular 2Cellos.
If you have missed the concerts which have been held thus far at the new open air festival of orchestras – Zagreb Classic at Tomislavac, do not worry because there are still plenty of concerts to enjoy.
The Zagreb Classic Festival is part of the offer of the Zagreb Cultural Summer – ZgKul. It takes place at the Square of King Tomislav, in front of the Art Pavilion, and it will last until mid-July. On July 2nd, the festival will feature a performance by the planetary popular duo – 2Cellos, which will mark the end of their current world tour as well as their fifth year working together. At their celebratory concert, Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser will be joined on stage by the renowned Croatian musician Oliver Dragojević, as well as the great Italian rocker Zucchero. Stjepan Hauser has already held numerous concerts with Oliver Dragojević, and they have recorded an album together, “Noć nek᾽ tiho svira” (Let the Night Play Softly), while 2Cellos and Zucchero recorded the song “Il Libro Dell” (The Book of Love), which was released on their second studio album, “In2ition” in 2012.
Apart from renowned musicians, the Zagreb Classic open air festival will also feature a performance by the Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Army and the Jeunesses Musicales Jazz World Orchestra, while there will also be a screening of Charlie Chaplin’s cult silent film, “The Kid”, accompanied by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. At the end of the festival audiences can also look forward to performances by the soloists, the choir and orchestra of the Croatian National Theatre, which will perform the opera by Ivan pl. Zajc, “Nikola Šubić Zrinski”, in order to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the battle at Szigeth.
Entry to the Zagreb Classic open air festival is free.
