The 10th International Fireworks Festiva will once again light up the skies over Zagreb between the 18th and the 21st of June. As in previous years, the festival venue will be the bank of the Sava River, along Bundek Lake, where a spectacular three days of firework displays will be enjoyed by tens of thousands of visitors.

For several years now, June has been reserved for the International  Fireworks Festival . This year, the bank of the Sava River, along Zagreb’s popular Bundek Lake, will once again feature this elaborate fireworks spectacle. The skies over Zagreb will be lit up for three evenings between the 18th and the 20th of June and, apart from the regular competitive program, organizers are announcing a celebratory atmosphere to mark the festival’s 10th anniversary.
This year’s festival competitors will once again include numerous international pyrotechnics teams, some of whom are among the world’s leading fireworks specialists, which the Zagreb audience has not yet had a chance to see. According to the organizers, these renowned specialists will implement all their expertise and skill to create unforgettable firework displays that will be talked about for years to come.
All competitive firework displays will be “pyromusical”, which means that all pyrotechnic effects in the sky will be fully synchronized to music. This is one of the most demanding forms of firework displays so pyrotechnic experts do not perform them often, except on special occasions such as this contest or large celebrations organized in cities across the globe.
The festival competition will be complemented by a diverse cultural program and concerts by the leading Croatian performers, as well as foreign guest stars. Concerts will be held in the evening hours while the daytime is reserved for various entertainments for both children and adults (magicians, actors, animators, funfair, etc). There will also be a diverse selection of food and refreshments available.
In the past three years since it has been taking place in Zagreb (it began in Samobor but soon outgrew the capacity of this relatively small town), the festival has been attended by approximately 100,000 visitors each year. As it is held on the same dates every year, it has become a recognizable event that frequently attracts visitors from distant countries.
