The Third Silent Film Festival
The third edition of the PSSST! festival of silent film, which will take place between the 12th and the 15th of November, will present audiences with the classics of the genre, as well as an excellent selection of contemporary German and Spanish silent films.
The third festival of silent film will take place at the Trešnjevka Culture Center between the 12th and the 15th of November. Apart from the classics of the genre, the audience will have an opportunity to view contemporary silent films from Germany and Spain.
The festival, known by the name “PSSST!”, is being organized in cooperation with the Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Croatian State Archive, which owns a large part of the collection of Croatian cinema works.
The festival has a non-profit agenda, primarily concerned with promoting attractively produced silent films. Apart from the unavoidable classics, the audience will also have an opportunity to view many contemporary films in the way they would have been shown in the heyday of silent movies, with a musician accompanying the projections.
Although the primary goal of this festival is to present audiences with the art of silent film through its most interesting pieces, the project also has an educational element. Concurrent events will offer opportunities to learn more about the beginnings of the art of film and silent movies, as well as to understand the process involved in the production of this form of art.
