Proof that Croatia is a renowned wine-making country lies in the fact that Zagreb will once again be host to the large International Wine Tourism Conference, which will take place at the Regent Esplanade Hotel on the 15th and 16th of March.
The conference is an annual meeting of the leading global wine and tourism experts, organized by the International Wine Tourism Conference & Exhibition Association. Slowly but surely it is becoming the spring gathering for all those who matter in wine tourism.
This year’s conference will bring together more than 300 experts in the field of gastronomy, wine and tourism from 30 countries around the globe.
The two-day programme features an array of events, ranging from specialist meetings, to symposiums to workshops and more laid-back evening events, including, of course, numerous wine tastings. This concept provides participants with ample opportunities for presentation and successful networking, the principal objective being to establish better communication links between the leading players in wine tourism, such as wine tourism promoters, wine makers and all other professionals involved in this specific form of tourist offer.
Some of the announced topics are: branding of the developing wine regions, creation of the so-called wow factor for the wine tour visitors, putting wine regions into the focus of the general tourism offer, the importance of training wine business professionals, the increasing demand for wine tourism around the world, the influence of wine tourism on the creation of wine, gastronomy and travel guides, and of course – a presentation of the developing Croatian wine-making activity.
