Tidiest Town in Zagreb County

Besides being the winner of this year's action “I Love Croatia – Green Flower 2008” for the tidiest town in Zagreb County, Samobor was also the winner of the award for the best souvenir in the county, the “Samobor Kiss”, which are handmade chocolate pralines made with the famous Samobor Bermet liqueur.

In this year's action “I Love Croatia – Green Flower 2008” Samobor was named the tidiest town in Zagreb County. First place was won based on appearance, tidiness and hospitality, which were some of the criteria in this well established action. Namely, is accordance with the proposition of the Croatian Tourist Board, the Tourist Board of Zagreb County has for many years chosen the tidiest town in its region, raising awareness about the necessity of improving one’s own surroundings. Besides the award in the most prestigious category, Samobor was the winner of a few other awards in several categories. This small quaint town was also the recipient of the award for the best souvenir in the county. This was won by Brankica Sovulj for her souvenir “Samobor Kiss” – pralines with Bermet liqueur, which are made in her family's sweet shop “Trešnja Okićka”. These are handmade chocolate pralines that are filled with the famous Samobor Bermet liqueur which have raised great interest on the market. Therefore, the owner of “Trešnja Okićka” has announced a larger assortment of pralines with a few new flavors. Besides the Green Flower with a Gold Symbol, not too long ago “Trešnja Okićka” also won the award for the nicest and most originally decorated point of sale at the Samobor Fair.
