Once you reach the observation deck on top of Lotrščak Tower, you will see the whole of Zagreb, and you will choose the view you want to rest your eyes on. “Which View To Rest Your Eyes On” is the title of a photo exhibition of Zagreb which will be open in Lotrščak Tower until the end of this year. This is actually a cycle of exhibitions featuring photos by Zagreb's contemporary photographers. The display will change several times, with each of the authors telling their own story of their city through their camera lenses and scenes they have captured with it.

Lotrščak Tower is one of the symbols of Zagreb. Located in Gradec, it is one of tourists' favourites. It was erected in the Middle Ages, at the southern entrance into the old town, next to the one time small gate of Dverce. In 1812, when the danger of Tatars' onslaughts subsided and the gate lost its defence role, it was pulled down. The adjacent tower Lotrščak was named after the bell (campana latrunculorum or the thief bell) which was sounded in the evening before the city gates closed and the tower itself assumed its present day appearance in the 19th century. Around that time, the city authorities decided to furnish it with a cannon which would be fired every day at noon so that the bell ringers of all the churches in town could adjust their times accordingly. The cannon was fired for the first time on New Year’s Day 1887. During World War I the cannon was forgotten and it was not fired at all. The tradition was resumed again in 1927 when the Grič cannon produced its sound from the fourth deck of the old tower, the same place from which it is still fired every day at noon.

The ground floor of Lotrščak Tower, which operates as part of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery, houses a souvenir shop. As for the ongoing exhibition, a few photographs by each of the authors will be used for the purposes of a future collection of photos of Zagreb and kept in the gallery's holdings. There is one more thing you should not forget: Strossmayer's Promenade, right at the doorstep of Lotrščak Tower, is still where the Summer At Stross Festival takes place and provides happenings and late night entertainment every day.
