Zagreb is the second best destination in Europe!

Zagreb has just been proclaimed the second best destination in Europe in 2014. This is yet another in the series of splendid awards and recognitions which have contributed to the ever growing number of visitors. Those who come to Zagreb say: This city is love at first sight!

BThe numerous accolades which the Croatian metropolis receives for its beauty, contents and atmosphere has been joined by yet another one: Zagreb has been proclaimed the second best tourist destination in Europe!

Closely behind Portuguese Porto, Zagreb has won more votes than Vienna, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, Bergen, Budapest, Cannes, Glasgow, Nicosia, London, Madeira, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stockholm and Geneva.

The flattering words of praise by those who voted for Zagreb include the feeling of being welcome, and the joyful and friendly atmosphere. High marks were also given to the beauty of Zagreb’s squares and churches, its ambiance, good bargains and similar things. Some of the visitors describe their encounter with this city as love at first sight.

The added value of this award arises from the fact that the competition is organized by the non-profit European organization European Best Destinations headquartered in Brussels. Its goal is to promote culture and tourism in Europe in partnership with tourist offices. The competition promotes excellence and the awarded cities gain an additional reputation and attract a significantly higher number of visitors.
