Since the beginning of the year, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb has been promoting happenings and events via Google, the largest, global search engine on the Internet. Thus far, more than 50 campaigns have been carried out, but the one which has resulted in the most visits to the Tourist Board’s webpage was the concert by the mega-popular R&B star Beyoncé. The fact that the legendary band U2 is holding two concerts in August, when a major influx of foreign guests is expected, has also resulted in numerous hits on the webpage.

In order to enable its guests to familiarize themselves with the Croatian capital, the Tourist Board has published a brochure, “Zagreb – All of the City’s Colors”, in nine languages; Croatian, English, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Russian, and Ukrainian, while a version in Hungarian is currently in the pipeline. Apart from that, a brochure, “Zagreb – The City and its People”, has also been published in six languages; Croatian, English, German, Spanish, Italian, and Russian, while versions in French and Japanese are in the pipeline.

There is another new and soon to be published guide, “Step by Step – A Stroll through Zagreb”, while a gastronomic guide is also being created. Apart from the new brochures, with assistance from the Studio Maras production company, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb has recently released a DVD box-set of themed documentary videos called “Zagreb in the Heart of Europe”. The DVD contains a total of 18 thirty-minute videos which are broadcast daily in the satellite program of TV Sljeme (Z1), but can also be viewed on the internet pages of the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb at www.zagreb-movies.com. For these videos, the Tourist Board won third prize at ITB Berlin in the category of travel videos dedicated to cities.
