PERFORMACES, MUSIC PROGRAMS AND CITY TOURS FOR ZAGREB CITY DAY

On the occasion of the Zagreb City Day on 31 May, the Zagreb Tourist Board (TZGZ) with its partners has prepared free city tours, plays and workshops for the youngest, a concert on Zrinjevac and other special programs.

Tamara Obrovac Transhistria Ensemble

Zrinjevac Park on Nikola Zrinski Square at 5:00 p.m

Distinctive and fervent musical journey around Istria and the Mediterranean region through the lens of modern jazz. This time in the heart of Zagreb, the exceptional mu-sicians of the international Transhistria Ensemble will demonstrate the beauty and grace of musical expression. They will demonstrate their skills, which only the best musicians possess, by expertly interpreting Tamara's distinctive music and combining contempo-rary jazz with elements of Istrian and Mediterranean music.

ZET music control

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Expect the unexpected, because the ZET Zagreb Orchestra is preparing surprise performances in trams and at selected locations in the city (trams and city squares (10:00 a.m. entering the tram at the Ljubljanica interchange and leaving for one of the locations in the wider city center (Kvaternik Square, British Square, Trešnjevka Square, Main station, Bus station, Funicular...).

Before going to the mentioned locations, the members of the orchestra will play in the tram (pop-up performance, surprise), and then a short lasting 10–15 minutes will be held at the locations. After that, the orchestra will re-enter the tram and go to the Ban Josip Jelačić Square (each of the mentioned dates) and end at 12:00 p.m. with another short concert at that location.)

A project of the Zagreb Tourist Board which includes various events and promotes the rich past of Zagreb.

The Celebration of the Mother of God of the Stone Gate, the patron saint of the city of Zagreb, will be held on Wednesday, 31 May 2023, on the Zagreb City Day. It will begin with the celebration of the Eucharist in front of the Zagreb Cathedral at 7 p.m. After the Mass, there will be a procession with candles and the image of the Mother of God of the Stone Gate from the Cathedral, Bakačeva Street, the north side of the Ban Josip Jelačić Square, Radićeva Street to the Stone Gate where the entire program will end.

Pursuant to the Preliminary Consent of the City Office for Physical Planning, Construction of the City, Utility Services and Transport and the Public Assembly Request of the Zagreb Police Administration to the Ministry of the Interior, dated 15 May 2023, traffic will be temporarily suspended (with police assistance) from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. on Kaptol from house number 1 to the Stone Gate in the above streets.
