Between the 20th and the 29th of May, the latest edition of Zagreb’s Festival of Jewish Film will educate audiences about the holocaust, which is the main goal of this unique festival in Europe. Apart from films with Jewish themes and a program dedicated to this year’s theme; “The Righteous People”, there will also be a diverse concurrent program.
Along with top class services particularly aimed at business guests, fitness and daily exercise aficionados can now enjoy the recently renovated wellness and fitness centre of The Westin Hotel, which features the most modern equipment and a diverse offer.
For the past 26 years, spring in Zagreb has been reserved for the traditional “Week of Contemporary Dance”, which will be held once again this year between May 24th and June 2nd. Apart from performances by world famous dance troupes, the festival will also feature the best Croatian dance performances as the concurrent program of the Croatian Choreographic Platform will be ongoing during the same period.
The love of Zagreb’s citizens towards flowers will, once again, culminate this spring with the latest edition of the ever-popular FloraArt. This large international garden exhibition will be held between the 26th and 31st of May at Zagreb’s Bundek Lake, reaffirming its status as the largest horticultural event in this part of Europe.
The annual Animafest Zagreb is one of the most significant destinations in the world for the presentation of animated art and film. This year’s festival is dedicated to short films and it will take place between the 1st and the 6th of June.
On June 22nd and 23rd, a large open-air music spectacle: the T-Mobile INmusic Festival, will bring many great music stars to Jarun Lake. Audiences will be treated to performances by world-famous bands, such as Massive Attack, Broken Social Scene, Flogging Molly, Chk Chk Chk, Rise Against and many others, including a recently-announced performance by Billy Idol.
Zagreb’s Four Points by Sheraton Panorama is the first hotel in Croatia that has adapted its offer for the benefit of blind or deaf/blind persons; among other things, there are new menus and wine cards with Braille lettering.
In mid-April, the numerous inhabitants of the Zagreb Zoo were joined by the olm; a protected, endemic type of amphibian. Do not miss this rare chance to see it before it is returned to its natural habitat on June 20th.
