The 5th Human Rights Film Festival is scheduled to take place between 8 and 14 February at Zagreb’s Europa film theater. This year, exceptionally, the festival takes place in February and not in its traditional slot during the International Human Rights Days in the first half of December.

According to announcements from Zagreb’s museums, this year’s host of remarkable exhibitions will provide tourist agencies with plenty of opportunities to create new programs and attract even greater numbers of tourists to whom they will be able to offer a wealth of new cultural contents.

The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb has presented a new Work Program for 2008. The program envisages a number of new projects aimed at improving the quality of the tourism product and securing even more significant profit levels.

For fifteen years in a row, the members of the Scout Association of Croatia have been participating in the Christmas tradition of carrying the Bethlehem Light. This year, bringing the light of peace and tolerance to Croatia has also been the way to celebrate the first 100 years of the Association’s existence.

The number of congresses that take place in Zagreb is steadily growing for a number of good reasons: the activities of the Convention Bureau of the City of Zagreb which is part of the Zagreb Tourist Board, the professionalism and skills of the hosts in Zagreb's hotels and congress halls and the charm of the city which wins the hearts of is visitors with its spontaneity and contents.

Is there any better way to spend a peaceful and pleasant winter weekend break, far from the usual hubbub of the city, then to escape to the country where you can enjoy fresh air, the warmth of the roaring fire and a rural atmosphere? There are more than enough of these places in the surroundings of Zagreb.

In addition to the already familiar products which bear the Zagreb County brand, such as Portugizac Plešivica and Kraljevina Zelina wines, Laktec sauerkraut, Samobor salami, Kap Zdravlja /A Drop of Health/ apple vinegar and Dragec and Kriško cheeses, the Sunčana apple variety is a new member in the family of Zagreb County brand products.

As of recently, the Kumrovec museum Staro Selo /Old Village/ has become the Center for Traditional Crafts in Croatia. Its opening coincides with the launch of the project – Old Crafts – New Attractions for Culture Tourism of Croatian Zagorje.
