We have reached the month of September. The people of Zagreb are gradually returning from their summer breaks to Zagreb's streets and squares, while tourists are still coming to our beautiful city. The last days of summer in our city are bringing us a great many attractive events, foremost among them the gastronomic ones, which is why Zagreb is by no means lacking in its tourist offering.

Sustainable tourism as a tool of development is the theme for this year’s World Tourism Day which is held every year on 27 September. Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), tells us that sustainable tourism promotes environmental protection, the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage and the engagement, commitment and respect of local communities.

“Croatia is Hrvatska” – An Interactive Time Machine Through Croatian History
The interactive exhibition “Croatia is Hrvatska” for the first time in Croatia’s history will turn the full length of the Grič tunnel into the biggest Croatian time machine.

Zagreb Tourfilm Festival – International Festival of Tourism Film
From 13 to 15 September 2017 in the Kaptol Boutique Cinema & Bar, the Zagreb Tourfilm Festival will be held.

A Musical Treat in Dom Sportova – Caro Emerald Sings for Zagreb
As a part of her current “Emerald Island” tour, Dutch pop/jazz singer Caro Emerald will perform in Zagreb at Dom Sportova on 24 February 2018.

World Tourism Day: Sustainable Tourism, a Tool for Development
Every year, 27 September marks World Tourism Day. The theme of this year’s celebrations is “Sustainable Development, a Tool for Development” in keeping with the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
