Zagreb has a great tradition of New Years’ celebrations, so its citizens and guests from all over the world can enjoy music and other entertainment programmes on the city squares, at hotels, clubs and restaurants, as they enter yet another year of new opportunities.
As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the INmusic Festival, which is scheduled to take place between June 22nd and 24th 2015 at Jarun Lake, the British musician – Morrissey, whose concert marked the first edition of this popular festival, will perform at the Zagreb Fair on December 12th.
Between December 4th and 6th, the Dom Sportova Sports Hall will be the venue for the 47th Golden Pirouette, once again featuring the greatest figure-skaters in the world. This year’s contest counts for participation at the European and World Championships in figure-skating.
Fans of electronic music, reserve your tickets on time, because the talented Austrian DJ musician, Parov Stelar, is visiting Zagreb for the first time, where he will perform with the rest of his band on December 19th at Boćarski Dom.
Take a tour of the Croatian National Theatre and take a peek into all of its nooks and crannies in order to discover the numerous secrets about the theatre. These interesting tours of the theatre, organized once a month, will be guided by the theatre’s own actors.
If you like to cook, or you would like to become more familiar with the regional diversity of Croatian cuisine, make sure to visit Kuhaona, where top class lecturers will hold specialized culinary workshops, sharing their expansive culinary knowledge and demonstrating various cooking techniques.
On April 11th 2015, Arena Zagreb will be the venue for a performance by the legendary conductor and composer of film scores, Ennio Morricone. He will lead more than two hundred musicians as part of his tour “My Life in Music (50 Years of Music World Tour)”. This will be an overview of his best works.
If you are a fan of hot Brazilian rhythms, make sure to reserve your place at the New Year’s party organized by the Plitvice Motel, where you will enjoy your favourite music and a unique Brazilian style show featuring samba dancers and professional capoeira performers.
Jesse Eisenberg (actor) spent the autumn in Zagreb in 2007: Zagreb is an incredible town. I enjoyed sightseeing the old parts of the town, and at night I went to clubs. I was thrilled that it was near Austria and Italy, so I visited Venice, Milan, Ljubljana, Graz, Split... over the weekends.
