As of recently, Zagreb has two new elite places for fun and entertainment – The Room Nightclub, which was opened at the Westin Hotel, and the newly opened Café Imperial at the Sheraton Zagreb Hotel. Both offer top class service and intriguing concepts, which is to be expected of the aforementioned five star hotels.

Famous names from the world of jazz - John Medeski, Mostly Other People Do The Killing and Gretchen Parlato, will be the headliners of this year’s 8th VIP Zagreb Jazz Festival, which will take place between 2nd and 4th of November at Zagreb’s VIP Club.

You have a chance to find out before the beginning of March next year if you visit the Croatian Natural History Museum where an interesting exhibition titled “Sutures, Structures, Textures” is being held. On 23rd February next year, Zagreb will be exposed to the exotic rhythms and traditional culture of Africa, brought to the Croatian capital by one of the most innovative circuses in the world, Mother Africa. Its performers will present the colours and rhythms of the “cradle of humanity” through a combination of traditional African folklore and modern circus.

The Glyptotheque of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts is the venue for the currently most provocative, yet entirely ordinary exhibition themed around the most widespread culturological taboo today – smoking. If you are interested in the phenomenon of smoking in Croatia, told through fascinating exhibits, make sure to hurry as the exhibition ends on 11th November.

The celebrated music diva, Macy Gray, who broke through on the global music scene with her hits from the year 2000, will visit Zagreb for the second time on 25th November, where she will promote her latest album “Covered”, her best yet according to critics, at the Culture Factory.

This year’s 8th edition of the International Festival of New Circus will last for two whole months; from 24th October until 21st December the audiences will have an opportunity to enjoy outlandish stage-shows, incredible acrobatics and provocative performances, all of it in the tone of this year’s theme – magie nouvelle!
