Although they are not among the world’s greatest bands, Dinosaur Jr., who will perform in the Culture Factory on February 16th, will personally prove to their fans why they are regarded as one of the most significant and most influential American alternative rock bands of all time. They will also present their latest studio album, “I Bet On Sky”, and Zagreb is the only city in the region they have chosen for this occasion.
In mid-December, yet another nightclub opened its doors in Zagreb, but not as a place for typical nightlife entertainment offered by your average nightclub. The name itself – Dramatic Club Zagreb – suggests that numerous renowned DJ’s, performers and artists acting as the principle protagonists of Zagreb’s new nightlife scene have been hired to add a new kind of drama to the conventional club life.
Based on the motto “something for everyone, and enough to intrigue”, a team of experts from the Archaeological Museum has prepared two exhibitions to mark the end of 2012 and welcome in 2013 – “Mummies: Science and Myth” and “Roman Golden Earrings”, which visitors can view until March 1st. Both exhibitions have an educational character, while visitors can look forward to quite a unique experience - getting close up and personal with real mummies!
Fans of freestyle motocross, adrenalin, mud and fascinating moto-shows, Arena Zagreb awaits you on March 30th with a fascinating show - Masters of Dirt fuelled by Monster Energy. For the first time in Croatia, this event will provide the audience with an opportunity to enjoy the greatest and most exciting freestyle motocross show in the world which combines potentially risky stunts with entertainment.
On October 5th, Arena Zagreb will be host to yet another global music star – Peter Gabriel, who will hold a concert as part of his latest European tour “Back to Front”. The tour will mark the 25th anniversary of the very successful album, “So”, which he recently rerecorded. He will perform in Zagreb along with his original band members.
On May 22nd, the great “professor” Satriani, one of the greatest rock guitarists in the world, will perform at Zagreb’s Culture Factory. His numerous Croatian fans will have the opportunity to enjoy some of his greatest hits as well as new tracks from his latest album, his 14th, which will be released in the spring. Zagreb Tourist Guide Association celebrates International Tourist Guide Day by organizing free city tours in Croatian on Saturday 23rd February. Tours start at 10 am and 11am in front of the Tourist Information Center, Ban Jelacic Square. An hour and a half walking tour takes you through Kaptol and Upper Town. There is no registration, just come in the group that suits you best.
