I was very looking forward to coming to Zagreb, especially because my mother travelled with me. My people found out everything about it, so that we could see the main stuff in the city!

For jazz lovers October will be a wonderfully prolific month. Between the Croatian Jazz Meeting and the International Days of Jazz, they will be able to enjoy the music of top domestic and foreign jazz musicians. Club will hold the Croatian Jazz Convention from October 3rd to 16th. That will be followed by the International Days of Jazz at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall and the Vip Zagreb Jazz Festival at the beginning of November at the Zagreb Youth Theater.
During the Youth Salon, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, works will be presented for the first time by gifted young artists from abroad, which means that the largest biennial event for the creativity of youths in Croatia has received international recognition.
At the Travno Stage of the Zagreb Puppet Theater the performance of Timbuktu will be showing from the beginning of October. This is a touching story about the relationship between two homeless creatures, a man and his dog. If you happen to come to the performance alone, it doesn't mean you will leave alone. At this show you have the chance to get two things – artistic enjoyment and man's best friend.
A more intensive business and tourist life in Zagreb is the reason for the growth in the number of hotels, and it has recently been announced that two new hotels will be built. Besides being the winner of this year's action “I Love Croatia – Green Flower 2008” for the tidiest town in Zagreb County, Samobor was also the winner of the award for the best souvenir in the county, the “Samobor Kiss”, which are handmade chocolate pralines made with the famous Samobor Bermet liqueur.
