    A Retrospective Exhibition by Dušan Džamonja

    Until November 16, 2008, visitors to the Museum for Arts and Crafts will have the opportunity to view a retrospective exhibition of the main works by sculptor Dušan Džamonja, the modern avant-garde sculptor who has decided to donate his works to the city in which he studied, lived and worked, Zagreb.

    Incentive for Young and Up-and-Coming Designers

    The Faculty of Textile Technology of the University of Zagreb has organized the 3rd Fashion Closet, a showcase of young fashion designers and thus offered them the opportunity to promote their own work and affirm themselves on the domestic fashion scene. The event will take place at the Museum for Arts and Crafts from November 20 - 30, 2008.

The hundred years of activity of the Croatian Esperanto Association will be marked by a succession of international events, as well as the publication of an Esperanto-Croatian dictionary.

    Road Brings Zagreb Closer to Rijeka

    With the opening of the final two sections that complete the full highway between Zagreb and Rijeka, the Croatian capital is now even closer to Rijeka and the guests of Kvarner. This completed highway is part of the European 5b corridor which leads towards the Goričan border crossing with Hungary and on to Budapest

    On October 18th, the Day of the Cravat was marked by various educational, yet entertaining events for the young. The cravat is one of the most significant Croatian symbols and it has become part of global cultural heritage. It was first worn by Croatian soldiers back in the 17th century.

    For the 8th year in a row, the Festival of Wine “Martin is in Zagreb” will be held on Petar Preradović Square from November 5th – 9th. This year, about 50 winemakers from Zagreb and its surrounding will present their products and we expect a great number of visitors and lovers of good wine.

    Jesse Eisenberg (actor) spent the autumn in Zagreb in 2007: Zagreb is an incredible town. I enjoyed sightseeing the old parts of the town, and at night I went to clubs. I was thrilled that it was near Austria and Italy, so I visited Venice, Milan, Ljubljana, Graz, Split... over the weekends.
