    A tradition Six Decades Long

    HUP Zagreb, which nowadays has under its wing many of Zagreb’s hotels, such as the Sheraton, Westin, Four Points Panorama, International and Jadran, will celebrate its 60th anniversary this April. It was exclusively a catering firm when it started in 1948. It entered the hotel business 26 years later and with time has become the leading hotel company.

    Return to the Romantic Past

    In mid April, a traditional manifestation called The Zagreb Time Machine will commence, taking place every weekend from April 19th until September 27th, invigorating Zrinjevac Park, the main square, Ban Josip Jelačić, and the Upper Town with old-fashioned sounds, customs and, of course, flavors.

    A Representative Exhibition of New Models

    At this year's biennial Zagreb Auto Show, which will be held from March 27th to April 6th at the Zagreb Fair, visitors will be able to view, for the first time, the new car models which have not yet been seen in Croatia.

    Mine Reopens its Doors to Visitors

    The Zrinski Mine, from which silver was mined and smelt already in the Middle Ages, is the only mine in Croatia that is open to the public. Visitors can once again view the mine as its regular technical maintenance has been completed.

    Cabaret Returns

    The curtain has just been lowered at the end of the first cabaret festival which was held at the Histrion Hall under the name “Gumbek's Days”. The event revived the 102-year old cabaret tradition in Croatian theater.

    Jesse Eisenberg (actor) spent the autumn in Zagreb in 2007: Zagreb is an incredible town. I enjoyed sightseeing the old parts of the town, and at night I went to clubs. I was thrilled that it was near Austria and Italy, so I visited Venice, Milan, Ljubljana, Graz, Split... over the weekends.
