A Festival of Urban Pop and Rock Music

The 3rd annual Rokaj Fest will take place this year between the 4th and the 6th of July, on the Island of Croatian Youth at Zagreb’s Jarun Lake. This exciting festival features several foreign performers of urban rock and pop music to complement the impressive lineup of numerous domestic regulars.

Rokaj FestAfter the successful Vip InMusic Festival, one of Europe’s top-20 summer festivals according to the British Times, the Island of Croatian Youth at Zagreb’s Lake Jarun will host the Rokaj Fest 2008 between July 4th and July 6th. This venue is the perfect setting for the Rokaj Fest’s 3rd annual open-air event. Also, for the first time ever, the lineup of domestic bands will be reinforced by some of the leading foreign performers of urban pop and rock music!

Among others, this year’s Rokaj Fest will see performances by the British post-punk band The Fall from Manchester, which has remained at the top of the global alternative scene for more than thirty years. Furthermore, the leading act will be the legendary Lemonheads who will present their newest songs along with old hits such as “Into Your Arms”, “My Hero Zero”, “Big Gay Heart”, and many other singles from the top-lists of the past. Some of the other performers include the British group The Godfathers, which is a very popular band among Croatian audiences as they held concerts in Zagreb in 1991 and 1994; The Wire, one of the most influential British post-punk and new-wave band of all times; the British band Soprano; the American group Dwarves; and attractive Kira who will entertain the audiences with her soul-punk music.

Among the domestic performers, Urban&4 will present their new songs from the album “Mercury, sometime at the beginning of the 21st century”, while a joint performance by Edo Maajka and Damir Avdić will merge two different musical styles into one project. Furthermore, there will be performances by Rambo Amadeus; the legendary Partibrejkers, who have been entertaining audiences across all the states of the former Yugoslavia for over 25 years; Pips Chips & Videoclips; Ramirez, Viva Glorio, Dječaci, Chweger, Psycho-Path, Zadruga, and many others. Throughout the three-day festival, various concerts will take place on several stages in accordance with the official Rokaj Fest program.
