A sailing regatta in the heart of the capital

Tourists who visit Zagreb’s Jarun Lake on June 12th and June 13th will have a special opportunity to attend a great sailing regatta in the heart of continental Croatia.

On June 12th and 13th, Zagreb’s popular “sea”, the Jarun Lake, will once again be the location for the 18th Zagreb Grand Prix sailing regatta. The regatta, sponsored by the city government, has a very international character as some of the best sailboaters in Europe regularly participate in several Olympic classes: Optimist, Laser, Europa, 470, etc. Like each year, some 80 sailboaters, who never fail to attend the regatta in the heart of the Croatian capital, will once again participate in this year’s event.
The regatta at Jarun Lake, which can be reached from the city center in about twenty minutes, is always attended by countless spectators. This is not surprising as the sight of numerous white sails propelled by the wind is not one that can be seen every day in the Croatian capital.
Partly due to its image, and partly due to top class competitors, the Zagreb Grand Prix regatta has grown into a well-visited and very appealing event.

Keeping in mind that it is the biggest sailboating event in continental Croatia, the Zagreb Sports Association considers it to be one of the greatest sporting events in Zagreb.
