At the Peak of the Congress Industry Promotion

Amidst extremely fierce competition between the contestants running for this year's Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA), the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb grabbed the silver award for the best CD-Rom/DVD for the promotion of the MICE Industry. The competition was launched in 2002 by the Meetings and Incentive Travel Magazine published by the respectable British publisher, Cat Publications.

The Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb is the second place winner of the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) competition in the category of best CD-Rom/DVD for the promotion of the MICE industry. The competition was launched in 2002 by the Meetings and Incentive Travel Magazine published by the respectable British publisher, CAT Publications. By winning this coveted international award, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb has climbed to the very top of the global congress industry marketing and promotion. The award in the best CD-Rom/DVD category was bestowed upon the Convention Bureau of the Zagreb Tourist Board for its 8-minute-long film authored by Ozren Letica. On behalf of the Zagreb Tourist Board, the award and the crystal statuette was received on 15 October at the London Science Museum by the Tourist Board President, Ivo Jelušić.
 
For the twelve entry categories of the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA), there was an independent panel of judges consisting of 35 MICE industry experts and leading buyers of congress and event services who chose the winners of the awards. The film and the new brochure are both geared towards the congress and event industry and make up an integral and high quality product which promotes Zagreb and its MICE industry potentials, as well as the rich tourist offer of its surroundings. 

Apart from positioning itself as an interesting tourist destination, Zagreb has definitely found its place on the international market of the congress and event industry. By entering the circle of winners, who were decided by industry members, Zagreb has proven that it is on the right track and that it stands a good chance of achieving even better results after the construction of a new congress center. In addition to the MIMA Award, the Tourist Board of the City of Zagreb won special recognition for its film about Zagreb at the International Tourfilm Festival held in Split in mid-October, as well as a diploma to credit its achievements in the development of tourism.
