Enjoy Plants – the 7th Week of Botanical Gardens, Arboretums and Botanical Collections

The Section for Botanical and School Gardens, Arboretums and Botanical Collections of the Croatian Botanical Society, in cooperation with numerous co-organisers, is organizing the 7th Week of Botanical Gardens, Arboretums and Botanical Collections from 8 to 14 May.

All events, at which visitors can learn all sorts of things about the most varied plants, are free, but guests must register in advance. The co-sponsors of this event are the Croatian Agency for the Environment and Nature, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry for Environmental Protection and Energy and the Ministry of Agriculture.

Organised by bashART and the charity UPAK and in cooperation with the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences in Zagreb, on 27 May the Day of Botanical Illustration and Art is to be held. With exhibitions, lectures, workshops and guest appearances by authors, the intention is to draw attention to botanical illustration, to contemporary botanical art and painting floral motifs. The exhibition will present works by Croatian artists on 27 May in the Laval Nugent Gallery and the exhibition pavilion of the Botanical Gardens in Zagreb. The final aim of the programme is to acquaint the public with the quality of work of Croatian artists and to develop and position Croatian botanical illustration and art on the global scene.
