Festival of Sustainable Living
On September 5th and 6th, Zagreb’s central square of Ban Josip Jelačić will be the venue of the 7th ZeGeVege festival of sustainable living. Visitors can again look forward to attractive exhibitions, as well as entertaining and educational programmes.
Over eighty Croatian and foreign exhibitors of healthy food and environmentally friendly cosmetic products, which were not tested on animals, will present their wares during the 7th ZeGeVege festival of sustainable living. The festival will take place in Zagreb’s central square of Ban Josip Jelačić on September 5th and 6th, as part of the international Veganmania project whose participants include approximately 20 European cities in total.
This festival regularly attracts a large number of proponents of sustainable living. Apart from exhibitions and presentations of various environmentally friendly products and organically grown foods, visitors can also look forward to a host of entertaining and educational programmes. This year, the festival will feature cooking workshops, while the children’s corner will offer workshops for the youngest visitors; there will be free beauty and hair-care treatments, various tasting opportunities, the selling of products at promotional prices, screenings of documentary films, prize draws and much more. The participating restaurants will offer vegan dishes and visitors can also look forward to concerts and dance shows featuring a line up of musicians and performing artists.
The ZeGeVege festival’s organizer is the association Animal Friends, whereas its sponsors include the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Ivo Josipović, and the office of the Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić. Support for this unique festival in Croatia comes from the City Office for Health and Veterans, City Office for Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, City Office for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development, City Office for Agriculture and Forestry, Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency, Croatian Chamber of Economy – Tourism Department, Environmental Protection Agency, Croatian Agriculture Agency, City Office for Agriculture and Forestry, and the Zagreb Tourist Board.
